Nowy singel The xx. Płyta po Nowym Roku

Zespół The xx potwierdził, że wydaje nowy album i zaprezentował pierwszy utwór. Numer zawiera sample piosenki “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)” z repertuaru Hall and Oates.

Longplay “I See You” i ukaże się 13 stycznia nakładem Young Turks. Za produkcję odpowaidają Jamie Smith i Rodaidh McDonald. Materiał powstawał między marcem 2014 a sierpniem 2016 roku w Nowym Jorku, w Marfa w Teksasie, Rejkiawiku, Los Angeles i Londynie.

Pierwszym nagraniem promującym dzieło jest “Hold On” z fragmentami “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)” Hall and Oates z 1981 roku. Delikatnej, melancholijnej, ale nieco rozpędzającej i rozkręcającej się kompozycji można posłuchać poniżej.

Trio wcześniej zapowiedziało trasę koncertową i 30 listopada wystąpi w Poznaniu, w Hali Nr 2 MTP oraz 1 grudnia w warszawskim Nowym Teatrze.

The xx zadebiutowali w 2009 roku doskonale przyjętym, imiennym albumem. Zgarnęli czołowe miejsca na listach podsumowujących rok w muzyce i zostali laureatami Mercury Music Prize. Album przyniósł kilka ważnych piosenek: “Islands”, “VCR” i “Crystalised”, a odpowiedzialny z produkcję Jamie xx stał się rozchwytywanym współpracownikiem gwiazd muzyki.

Drugi longplay, “Coexist”, wydany w wrześniu 2012 przyniósł kolejne poruszające, melancholijne piosenki, intymne teksty i oszczędne produkcyjne smaczki, tworzące niezwykłą całość, gdzieś na styku nowoczesnej muzyki klubowej, R&B i alternatywy.
