Van Morrison zapowiedział nowy longplay, który nosi tytuł “Roll With the Punches”. Album ukaże się 22 września. Zestaw wypełni 15 nagrań.
Będą to zarówno premierowe, autorskie numery, jaki covery klasyków z repertuaru takich artystów jak Sam Cooke, Bo Diddley, Mose Allison czy Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
– Od małego lubiłem bluesa – mówi muzyk. – Miałem to szczęście, że poznałem bluesmenów z krwi i kości, jak John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Witherspoon, Bo Diddley, Little Walter & Mose Allison.
– Każdy z kawałków to historia, którą wykonuję – dodał.
Na pierwszy singel wybrał “Bring It On Home To Me”. Nagranie znajduje się na Spotifyu.

Artysta zaczynał karierę w latach 50. Pierwsze sukcesy zdobywał z zespołem Them, który odpowiada za klasyki “Baby, Please Don’t Go” czy “Gloria”. Solową karierę rozpoczął w 1967 roku. W jego dorobku są takie utwory jak “Brown Eyed Girl”, “Jackie Wilson Said (I’m in Heaven When You Smile)”, “Domino” i “Wild Night”.
Poprzedni longplay Morrisona ukazał się niespełna rok temu. Płyta “Keep Me Singing” pochodzi z września 2016 roku.
