“The Heart Speaks In Whispers” jest bogate w świeże rozwiązania i pełne emocjonalnej energii przepływającej przez piosenki jak prąd.
Album został wyprodukowany przez Corinne razem ze Steve’m Brownem, który współpracował przy poprzednim, docenionym przez krytyków albumie wokalistki „The Sea”.
Nagrywanie materiału odbywało się w studiu artystki w Leeds i w Los Angeles.
Na płycie udziela się wielu znanych muzyków, m.in. Pino Palladino (D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, David Gilmour), James Gadson (Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers), Marcus Miller (Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock), Esperanza Spalding oraz Moses Sumney (znany głównie ze swojej współpracy z Beck).
