Szwedzka formacja Meshuggah zaprezentowała kolejny teledysk promujący jej ósmy studyjny album “The Violent Sleep Of Reason”. Płyta miała premierę 7 października 2016 roku.
Niesamowitą, futurystyczną animację, delikatnie wzorowaną na słynnym Mount Rushmore, stworzył Julius Horsthuis, a powstała ona do otwierającego płytę utworu “Clockworks”. Efekt prac artysty można obejrzeć poniżej.
Inspiracją dla albumu była rycina Goi pod tytułem “Gdy rozum śpi, budzą się potwory”. Za produkcję odpowiada zespół. Inżynierem dźwięku w czasie sesji, która odbyła się w Danii, był Tue Madsen.
Nagrywano w Puk Studios. Okładkę wykonał Keerych Luminokaya, wcześniej autor chociażby okładek Meshuggah na albumy “Koloss” i “The Ophidian Trek”.
Szwedzi zadebiutowali w 1989 roku. Zespół uważa się za pionierów djent, podgatunku metalu. Meshuggah została uwzględniona w rankingu “10 najważniejszych zespołów hard i heavy” przez magazyn “Rolling Stone”.
Twórczość Szwedów chwaliło wielu znanych muzyków metalowych, m.in. Kirk Hammet z Metalliki.
