Alan Walker przygodę z muzyką rozpoczął jeszcze jako dziecko. W 2012 roku jego zainteresowanie nowymi technologiami przerodziło się w pasję – zaczął tworzyć własną muzykę, a następnie udostępniać ją w internecie. Nagrania przykuły uwagę wytwórni płytowych i entuzjastów muzyki elektronicznej.
Dzisiaj singiel „Faded” ma prawie 800 mln wyświetleń na Youtube, a utwór „Sing Me to Sleep” od kilku miesięcy utrzymuje się w ścisłej czołówce listy Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists. Młody DJ na koncie ma również remixy piosenek zespołu Coldplay i CashCash & Digital Farm Animals, a Sia umieściła jego wersję kawałka „Move Your Body” na swoim albumie.
Alan Walker był gwiazdą Eska Music Awards w 2016 roku, grał też na największych europejskich festiwalach takich jak Lolapalooza, Creamfields czy Tomorrowland. Muzyk występował także jako support Rihanny na europejskich koncertach, będących częścią ANTI Tour World.
