“Hallelujah” Leonarda Cohena po raz pierwszy w setce na Billboardzie

Po śmierci Leonarda Cohena, utwór “Hallelujah” zdobywa nową popularność. Numer po raz pierwszy znalazł się w Hot 100 notowania magazynu “Billboard”.

Ballada zajmuje obecnie 59. miejsce zestawienia. Przez ostatni weekend, kawałek został ściągnięty w USA 33 tysiące razy. Liczba streamów wyniosła natomiast 3,8 miliona. Oznacza to wzrost rzędu 279 procent.

Właśnie ballada “Hallelujah” przyniosła Cohenowi największy rozgłos. Interpretacji numeru podejmowało się wielu wykonawców w tym Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright czy Alexandra Burke. Piosenkę można przypomnieć sobie poniżej.

Leonard Cohen zmarł 7 listopada, we śnie, niedługo po premierze czternastej płyty, “You Want It Darker”, która ukazała się 21 października 2016 roku.

Leonard Cohen urodził się 21 września 1934 roku w Westmount, w Quebecu. Był kanadyjskim wokalistą i poetą, członkiem Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame a także Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We wrześniu 2014 roku ukazał się poprzedni studyjny album Leonarda Cohena, “Popular Problems”. Pochodzący z krążka numer “Nevermind” posłużył za temat przewodni drugiego sezonu serialu HBO “Detektyw”.
