Legenda hard rocka, grupa Scorpions, będzie gwiazdą Life Festival Oświęcim 2017. Niemiecka kapela zagra na finał 8. edycji imprezy, która potrwa od czwartku 22 czerwca do soboty 24 czerwca.
Do grona super-gwiazd, Scorpions dołączyli w latach 80-tych. Za sprawą takich przebojów, jak “No One Like You”, “Rock You Like a Hurricane” czy “Still Loving You”, pochodzących z multiplatynowych albumów “Blackout” i “Love at First Sting” stali się mega popularni.
Wydana w 1990 r. płyta “Crazy World” przyniosła megahit “Wind of Change”, który stał się nieformalnym hymnem przemian w Europie Wschodniej w tamtych czasach.
Ponad sto milionów sprzedanych płyt stawia Scorpionsów w gronie najpopularniejszych rockowych grup w historii. Mają w niej miejsce również dzięki pięciu z rzędu wyprzedanym koncertom w Leningradzie w 1988 roku, w czasach, gdy zachodnie zespoły nie miały prawa wjazdu do ZSRR.
W 2000 roku zagrali w podkrakowskim Pobiedniku na koncercie zorganizowanym przez RMF FM, przed ponad 700 tysiącami fanów, co jest do dziś niepobitym rekordem frekwencji na jakimkolwiek koncercie w Polsce.
