Przedstawiciel wokalistki zdementował niedawne doniesienia o rozstaniu Fergie z kolegami.
– Fergie nadal jest w The Black Eyed Peas i darzy swych braci wielką miłością – zapewnił. – Niemniej, obecnie skupia się na solowej płycie i współpracy z BMG.
Mimo tych zapewnień, fani zapewne zauważyli, że Fergie nie była obecna podczas występu The Black Eyed Peas przed finałem Ligii Mistrzów w Cardiff.
Wcześniej w rozmowie z “Ahlan!” Will.I.Am. zdawał się potwierdzać, że wokalistka opuściła szeregi bandu.
– Fergie pracuje obecnie nad solowym albumem, a my świętujemy 20-lecie The Black Eyed Peas. Pracowaliśmy z nią nad piosenkami na jej solową płytę. Jesteśmy dumni z tego, że powołała swoją wytwórnię, ale The Black Eyed Peas idzie do przodu zarówno jeśli chodzi o treść, technologię i nasz nowy projekt – graficzną powieść “Masters of the Sun – The Zombie Chronicles”.
Fergie niedawno podpisała kontrakt z wytwórnią BMG. Powołała też do życia swój label, Dutchess Music. Z nową umową w kieszeni 8-krotna laureatka Grammy planuje w końcu wydać drugi solowy longplay “Double Dutchess”. Nowe nagrania spodziewane są pod koniec wakacji.
42-letnia wokalistka dołączyła do The Black Eyed Peas w 2001 roku. Z hiphopową grupą wylansowała przeboje “Shut Up”, “My Humps”, “Boom Boom Pow”, “I Gotta Feeling” czy “Imma Be”. Na koncie ma 8 statuetek Grammy i 4 multiplatynowe albumy wydane z The Black Eyed Peas. Ostatni z nich to “The Beginning” z listopada 2010 roku.
