16 czerwca ukazała się nowa płyta Lorde zatytułowana “Melodrama”. Jak przyznaje wokalistka, duży wpływ na kształt jednej z piosenek na albumie miał Frank Ocean.
Okazuje się, że dzięki ostatniej płycie Franka Oceana, “Blonde”, Lorde czuła się dużo swobodniej pracując nad własnym materiałem. Najlepszym przykładem jest tutaj wyróżniająca się na wydawnictwie piosenka “The Louvre”.
– W czasach po premierze albumu “Blonde”, możemy pozwolić sobie na wszystko, jeśli chodzi o aranżacje instrumentale. To takie ekscytujące – opowiada Lorde.
– Mogę do gitar dodać trudny bit w stylu Flume’a i użyć takiego efektu, jak gdybym wrzuciła całość pod wodę.
Wokalistka dodała również, że zaczyna już myśleć o kolejnym longplayu.
– Wydaje mi się, że już teraz wiem, jak będzie on brzmieć. Chociaż oczywiście, nie mogę być tego pewna na sto procent – mówi Lorde.
Na albumie “Melodrama” znalazło się 11 piosenek, których współproducentem jest Jack Antonoff (fun./Bleachers). Wydawnictwo zapowiadały utwory “Green Light”, “Liability”, “Perfect Places” i “Sober” (do sprawdzenia poniżej).
Wokalistka będzie jedną z gwiazd tegorocznego festiwalu Open’er, który odbędzie się w Gdyni w dniach 28 czerwca – 1 lipca.

Lorde pochodzi z Nowej Zelandii i naprawdę nazywa się Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor.
