Grupa New Model Army powiększyła skład tegorocznego festiwalu Przystanek Woodstock.
Zespół New Model Army powstał w 1980 roku w Bradford (Wielka Brytania) z inicjatywy Justina Sullivana. Z czasem kapela, która zaczęła koncertować jako trio, wzbogaciła się o nowych członków i teraz występuje w następującym składzie: Michael Dean (perkusja), Dean White (klawisze i gitara), Marshall Gill (gitara) i Ceri Monger (gitara basowa).
Od samego początku członkowie kapeli czerpali inspiracje z brzmień i rytmów północnego soulu (northern soul to gatunek muzyczny, który powstał w latach 60 XX wieku na północy Anglii), punk rocka i inspirowali się buntowniczą atmosferą tamtych czasów.
Od tego czasu New Model Army przeszli krętą drogę kreatywnych poszukiwań i tworzyli muzykę pod wpływem najróżniejszych gatunków i subkultur: od post-punka, poprzez folk-rock po metal i muzykę gotycką.
Dzięki tym szerokim kręgom inspiracji artyści udowodnili, że są prawdziwie niezależni, wolni i otwarci na nowe brzmienia.
Muzycy współpracowali z najwybitniejszymi producentami w branży, takimi jak m.in. Glyn Johns, Tom Dowd, Andy Wallace, Bob Clearmountain, Joe Barresi.

W czasie 23. Przystanku Woodstock na 4 scenach zaprezentuje się kilkudziesięciu wykonawców z Polski i ze świata. Wystąpią m.in. Archive, Amon Amarth, Trivium, Orange Goblin, Kyle Gass Band, The Qemists, The Bloody Beetroots, Nothing But Thieves, Slaves, Wilki oraz Prong.
Festiwal odbędzie się w dniach 3-5 sierpnia 2017 roku w Kostrzynie nad Odrą.
