Supergrupa muzyków Green Day i Rancid – Armstrongs

Billie Joe Armstrong z Green Day i Tim Armstrong z Rancid postanowili połączyć siły i powołać do życia wspólną kapelę.

Zespół nazywa się… Armstrongs. W składzie znaleźli się ponadto syn frontmana Green Day, perkusista Joey (znany z formacji SWMRS) oraz bratanek Tima, Rey.

Panowie zaprezentowali pierwszy singel zatytułowany “If There Was Ever a Time”. Nagrania można posłuchać poniżej.

Dochód ze sprzedaży krążka zasili konto fundacji 924 Gilman. Numer trafi też do nadchodzącego dokumentu “Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk”.

Green Day ma na koncie ponad 75 milionów sprzedanych płyt, w tym “Dookie”(1994) i “American Idiot” (2004), które zakupiło ponad 30 milionów fanów. W kwietniu 2015 roku Green Day wprowadzony został do Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Grupa jest także laureatem pięciu statuetek Grammy.

Rancid to kalifornijska, punkowa grupa. Dotąd wydali 9. albumów, z których ostatni to “Trouble Maker” z czerwca 2017 roku.
