Chester Bennington, frontman zespołu Linkin Park nie żyje. Muzyk popełnił samobójstwo. Miał 41 lat.
Informację o śmierci wokalisty potwierdził jego kolega z zespołu, Mike Shinoda. – Jestem w szoku i serce mi pęka, ale to prawda – napisał na Twitterze. – Wkrótce pojawi się oficjalny komunikat.

Jak podają amerykańskie media Chester Bennington powiesił się w swym domu, w Palos Verdes, w Kalifornii. Lokalny koroner, Brian Elias, przekazał, że prowadzone jest śledztwo z podejrzeniem samobójstwa.
Artysta przez lata walczył z uzależnieniem od alkoholu i narkotyków. Osierocił sześcioro dzieci. Opłakuje go także żona Talinda Ann Bentley.
Zespół Linkin Park miał 27 lipca wystąpić w Mansfield, w Massachusetts.
