Duńska projektantka przygotowała dla wokalistki M.I.A. m.in. spodnie, kurtki i koszulki. Są one nie tylko produktami stworzonymi z myślą o sympatykach artystki, lecz także częścią wiosennej kolekcji Astrid Andersen.
– Zdecydowałam się na współpracę z Astrid, bo jest niezależna, a jej projekty łącza funkcjonalność, sportowy styl, prostotę i futuryzm – wyjaśnia M.I.A.
Kolekcja, której kolorami dominującymi są pomarańczowy i czarny, dostępna jest na stronie wokalistki. Ceny od 70 do 160 dolarów.
M.I.A. naprawdę nazywa się Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, a jej korzenie tkwią na Sri Lance.
Jej ojciec był czynnie zaangażowany w ruch Tamilskich Tygrysów, a pozostawiona przez niego rodzina musiała radzić sobie dzieląc los emigrantów w Londynie. Zadebiutowała w 2005 roku płytą “Arular”. Dwa lata później wydała krążek “Kala”. Obydwa zdobyły przychylność krytyków.
Jej trzecia płyta to “Maya” (2010), a czwarta “Matangi” (2013). We wrześniu 2016 roku wydała longplay “AIM”.
