Nick Jonas ewidentnie stawia na karierę filmową. Były członek Jonas Brothers otrzymał kolejną rolę. Wokalista dołączył do obsady “Chaos Walking”.
Nick Jonas zagra Davy’ego Prentissa Jr, żołnierza w armii swego ojca majora Prentissa (Mads Mikkelsen). Chłopak jest zazdrosny o więź, jaka powstała między jego tatą a Toddem Hewittem (Tom Holland).
Opowieść będzie się rozgrywać na odległej planecie Nowego Świata. Miejsce dotknięte zostało dziwnym wirusem, który wpływa na ludzkie myśli. Todd Hewitt odkrywa, że kluczem do rozwiązania wielu zagadek może być dziewczyna o imieniu Viola (Daisy Ridley).
Kurt Sutter (“Synowie Anarchii”) wcieli się w twardego farmera Cilliana, który adoptuje chłopca Todda Hewitta, głównego bohatera filmu (jego starsze wcielenie portretuje Tom Holland). Ich relacja jest dość burzliwa, ale mężczyzna decyduje się zapłacić najwyższą cenę za bezpieczeństwo chłopaka.
W obsadzie znalazł się również Demian Bichir.
Za podstawę scenariusza posłużyła proza Patricka Nessa. Tekst przygotowali Charlie Kaufman, Lindsey Beers, John Lee Hancock i Gary Spinelli.
Reżyserią zajmie się Doug Liman (“Na skraju jutra”). Premiera planowana jest na 1 marca 2019 roku.
W czerwcu 2016 roku ukazała się solowa płyta Nicka Jonasa, “Last Year Was Complicated”. Nagrał też z Nicki Minaj piosenkę “Bom Bidi Bom” do filmu “Ciemniejsza strona Greya”. Ostatnio coraz częściej można go oglądać jako aktora. Zagrał m.in. w serialach “Królowe krzyku” i “Kingdom”, a niedawno zajęty był na planie “Jumanji”.
