“Songs Of Experience” to kontynuacja wydanego w 2014 roku albumu “Songs Of Innocence”. Inspiracją dla powstania obu płyt jest zbiór poematów “Songs of Innocence and Experience”, osiemnastowiecznego angielskiego poety, malarza i mistyka, Williama Blake’a. Jeśli “Songs of Innocence” opisywała doświadczenia i inspiracje zespołu z lat 70. i 80., to nowy album jest kolekcją piosenek – osobistych listów do miejsc i ludzi bliskich sercu wokalisty, Bono: do rodziny, przyjaciół, fanów i… jego samego.
