Świeżo sklasyfikowany gatunek prehistorycznego krokodyla zostanie nazwany po zmarłym frontmanie grupy Motorhead. Lemmysuchus obtusidens żył około 164 milionów lat temu.
Nazwę dla prehistorycznego gatunku krokodyla zaproponowała Lorna Steel z Muzeum Historii Naturalnej w Londynie. Prywatnie – fanka Lemmy’ego.
– Wydaje nam się, że Lemmy chciałby wznieść toast za Lemmysuchus, najbardziej złośliwego wodnego stwora, jaki kiedykolwiek zamieszkiwał naszą planetę – mówi dr Seteel.
Wokalista Motörhead, Lemmy Kilmister, zmarł 28 grudnia 2015 roku.
W maju 2016 roku ukazały się koncertowe wydawnictwa Motorhead “Clean Your Clock” dokumentujące ostatnią trasę kapeli, a dokładnie występy w Monachium. Studyjny dorobek bandu zamyka wydana w sierpniu płyta “Bad Magic”.
1 września ukaże się zestaw coverów “Under Cover”, m.in. z przeróbką “Heroes” Davida Bowiego.
Metalowcy Motorhead zrealizowali też swoją wersję „Heroes” podczas sesji do albumu „Bad Magic” z 2015 roku.
Numer nie trafił jednak na płytę. Zamiast tego usłyszeliśmy przeróbkę „Sympathy for the Devil” The Rolling Stones, która również znajdzie się na „Under Cover”.
– Lemmy był bardzo, bardzo dumny – zapewnia perkusista Mikkey Dee. – Nie tylko dlatego, że świetnie nam wyszło, ale dlatego, że praca nad tym utworem była dla nas wielką frajdą. A na tym takie przedsięwzięcia powinny polegać.
